The Cherrytrees Village Fete took place in the walled garden in July, with everyone getting together for some summer fun, including tasty cakes, a book stall, tombola, splat the rat and face painting. There was also a barbecue, as well as an obstacle race and fiercely contested tug-of-war on the lawn.
The mini farm turned out to be smaller than hoped – the sheep were happy to take part, but the pigs refused, preferring to wallow in their mud. It was the one thing I’d asked of them all year, so the diva behaviour was disappointing!
We were delighted that £1,600 was raised for Cheviot Churches, so many thanks to everyone for your kind support! Thanks also to the Kelso Fire Brigade for coming along and joining in the fun.
